YOP – I’m back

I’ve been sick. Both physically and overwhelmed with depression. The cough/cold/flu thing has mostly gone and I am trying to fight the depression with various degrees of success (depending on day, week, hour). But I have kept knitting. The hem of the Susie Hoodie is almost finished so I get to switch to my signature needles soon.

And I am almost finished January’s sock. Checks calendar, hmmm…. there may be a problem. On the bright side I am going away next weekend for a knitting retreat. Knitting, eating, drinking and, in theory, snow shoeing and running. Hopefully I’ll make a dent in my socks and Susie.

January sock (oops)

Meanwhile, my two washcloths for January and February are finished, so I haven’t been a complete Zombie. Yes I know washcloths are pretty much instant gratification but they are done and the boys love them!

    • The pattern is Charee from the Indigodragonfly yarn club. The yarn is Tanis Fiber Arts purple label in teal.

  1. That sock is beautiful, it will be amazing when it’s finished. And I hope you feel much better soon and have a good time at your retreat.

  2. You’re planning to run next weekend? Oh hell no. I’m sitting my arse down and knitting and eating and drinking and maybe going to the Art Hive. Maybe you can run for me?

    • Not me. I go from bedroom, to kitchen, living room floor. I’ll try to make it to the Art Hive but I might just leave my comfy bum where it is.

  3. Noting wrong with instant gratification…would think that would be helpful with the depression. Knitting retreat….ohhhhhhhhh that sounds awesome, aren’t you super excited? I would be, not about anything connected to snow though. lol

  4. How nice to see you back–I have missed you. I must also say that I am insanely jealous of you and your knitting retreat! How cool is that? Who puts these things on? It seems like they all happen in other parts of the world from where I live though. ;) I say forget the running and the snowshoeing–staying warm and cozy with your needles and good friends sounds perfect to me.

  5. Love the sock and I hope you enjoy your weekend, sounds like its going to be lovely.

  6. I think we all want in on your knitting retreat!

Love your Jan socks, the colour and detail is just gorgeous.

Hope that your retreat brings relaxation, fun, crafting and a shift in your depression.

  7. I’m so very sorry you’re battling depression right now. That is such a tricky and hard thing to deal with. You are a warrior to have to face this challenge in life.
It totally sucks to be sick and doesn’t help one bit.
Thank goodness for knitting yeah? Just know that we’re all thinking of you and wish you the best to feeling better.
That is one challenging sock KAL you’re participating in!!! You pat yourself on the back, Mama.

  8. I am so sorry that you are under the weather. I hope that the knitting retreat helps, sometimes a change of scenery can help enormously. And I love your January sock – gorgeous pattern and colour x
